چکیده
This work introduces the notion of multi-version conflict notion. Using this conflict notion, we define a subclass of opacity, mvcopacity whose membership can be verified in polynomial time.

Multiversion Conflict Notion for Transactional Memory Systems
In recent years, Software Transactional Memory systems (STMs) have garnered significant interest as an elegant alternative for addressing concurrency issues in memory. STM systems take optimistic approach. Multiple transactions are allowed to execute concurrently. On completion, each transaction is validated and if any inconsistency is observed it is aborted. Otherwise it is allowed to commit. ...
متن کاملSingle-version Stms Can Be Multi-version Permissive
We present PermiSTM, a single-version STM that satisfies a practical notion of permissiveness, usually associated with keeping many versions: it never aborts read-only transactions, and it aborts other transactions only due to a conflicting transaction (which writes to a common item), thereby avoiding spurious aborts. It avoids unnecessary contention on the memory, being strictly disjoint-acces...

متن کاملResearch on Conflict Resolution and Consistency Maintenance Supporting Intention Combination in Real-time Collaboration Environment
With the real-time group editing system, a group of users can view and edit the shared document by communication networks anytime and anywhere. Under the circumstance, it is surely inevitable that many operations from different users are going to conflict. Thus, two issues, the conflict resolution and the consistency maintenance, are the most important for designing and completing the system. I...
متن کاملA Multi-version Approach to Conflict Resolution in Distributed Groupware Systems
Groupware systems are a special class of distributed computing systems which support human-computer-human interaction. Real-time collaborative graphics editors allow a group of users to view and edit the same graphics document at the same time from geographically dispersed sites connected by communication networks. Resolving conflict access to shared objects is one of the core issues in the des...
